HEATING THE HOUSE

Most buildings have a furnace that burns fuel to keep the inside air warm in cold winter months. Try to find the furnace where you live and figure out where its fuel comes from. Some houses have underground fuel oil storage tanks. Others are connected to tanks of pressurized propane gas. A woodpile shows that the home uses a wood-burning fireplace. No fuel storage is necessary if your house is connected to natural gas lines.
