TIRE PRESSURE

One way that most of us use pressure is when we air up tires. Look on the side of an automobile tire. It will show the correct pressure for that tire. The tires on passenger cars are usually inflated to about 35 psi. When you press down the small button inside of the tire stem you can hear the hissing sound of the pressurized air coming out.

WITH ADULT ASSISTANCE: Use a pressure gauge to check the pressure in all four tires of a car. If the pressure is low, use an air compressor to put in more air. Don’t put in too much! Compressors can produce pressures of over 100 psi. Tires will explode if too much pressure is forced in. Be especially careful when airing up small bicycle tires.
